Insurance & Billing

We work with most major plans — and we have an option for the uninsured.

Bring your insurance card to your first visit and we will verify your coverage and benefits before treatment begins. If you do not have dental coverage, the Virginia Dental Club membership keeps preventive care attainable.

Plans we work with

Most major dental insurance.

Our office accepts most major dental insurance plans, including the common employer-sponsored carriers serving western Augusta County. We are happy to file your claim for you so you do not have to. Your insurance card and a photo ID at the first visit are all we need to get started.

Coverage levels and benefits vary considerably from plan to plan, so we verify your specific benefits before treatment and give you a written estimate of what your insurance is expected to pay and what you are likely to owe. Surprises on a dental bill should be rare, and a good office will work to keep them rare.

If you are not sure whether we accept your plan, call us at 540-337-6004 with your insurance card in hand. The front desk can answer in a minute or two.

How dental insurance actually works

A short, honest explanation.

Most dental plans cover preventive care — cleanings, exams, and routine X-rays — at or near 100%. Basic services like fillings are usually covered around 80%, after any deductible. Major services like crowns, bridges, and root canals are often covered at 50%. There is typically an annual maximum — commonly $1,000 to $1,500 — that resets each calendar year.

That structure means insurance is excellent for routine care and partial help on bigger work. It is not designed to cover everything, and it is rarely worth choosing care around the annual maximum if your tooth genuinely needs treatment.

Our job is to recommend the right treatment regardless of what your benefits look like, and then to help you understand what insurance will cover and what it will not, before anything is started.

No insurance?

Virginia Dental Club — built for western Augusta County.

Many of the families we see — farmers, retirees, Bath County resort workers, self-employed neighbors — do not have dental coverage through work. The Virginia Dental Club membership was built for them. It is a simple monthly fee, preventive care is included, and member discounts apply to everything else.

More details and current pricing are on the Virginia Dental Club page.
