FAQ

The questions we hear most.

A short list of practical answers. If your question is not here, the front desk is happy to help — call 540-337-6004 during business hours.

What are your hours?

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We are closed Saturday and Sunday. After-hours emergency care for established patients is coordinated through the main office number; leave a message and you will hear back.

What insurance do you accept?

We work with most major dental insurance plans common in western Augusta County and file claims for you. Call us at 540-337-6004 with your card in hand and we can confirm your specific plan in a minute or two.

What if I do not have dental insurance?

Ask about Virginia Dental Club — a flat-rate membership program built for the families and retirees in our area who do not have employer-sponsored dental coverage. Preventive care is included, and member discounts apply to everything else. Details on the Virginia Dental Club page.

What happens at the first visit?

Plan on about an hour. Updated X-rays if needed, a thorough cleaning, a comprehensive exam with Dr. Agrawal, and a plain-English conversation about anything that needs attention. You can register online ahead of time or fill out forms when you arrive.

How do you handle payment for larger treatment?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, CareCredit, check, and cash. For larger treatment plans, we can usually split payment across visits, accept CareCredit financing, or work out a schedule that fits your household. The front desk walks through it before treatment begins.

What if I have a dental emergency?

Call the office at 540-337-6004 as early in the day as you can. We try to get emergency patients in the same day during regular hours. For genuine after-hours emergencies — severe trauma or uncontrolled bleeding — an emergency room is the right starting point; we can follow up the next clinical day.

Do you offer sedation?

We use a careful approach to local anesthetic and prioritize patient comfort throughout. For patients with significant dental anxiety, we can discuss options at your consultation. The goal is always a calm, manageable visit.

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes. We welcome new patients from Churchville, Staunton, and the western Augusta County corridor — Buffalo Gap, Deerfield, Middlebrook, Greenville, Fort Defiance, Swoope, and the Bath County communities along US-250. Register online or call to schedule.

Do you provide second opinions?

Yes. If you have a treatment plan from another dentist that you want a second opinion on, bring the X-rays and the proposed plan if you have them. We will give you an honest read on whether the plan looks reasonable or whether a different approach might be worth considering. There is no pressure to switch dentists afterward.

Do you see children?

Yes. Families in western Augusta County have been bringing children to this office since the 1950s. Routine cleanings, exams, fluoride treatments, sealants, and fillings are part of what we do every week. For complex specialty work in very young children, we may refer to a pediatric dentist — but most family dentistry can be handled here.
